This was announced by the Savvis cloud hosting company on Monday, October 15, 2012. Earlier than this announcement, Savvis hosting had announced in July this year that it was acquiring some assets of the Ciber IT outsourcing company. But after, few months now, entire company has been acquired by Savvis cloud hosting. The acquisition was realized with an amount of $6 million cash and future additional potential considerations till December 2013.
It was further told in the statement that with this complete acquisition of Ciber business, the customers of Savvis would be able to benefit from high quality partnership program, cutting edge infrastructure and additional expertise of portfolio business throughout major regions of the globe like North America, Europe and Indian Subcontinent. Savvis has more than 50 state of the art data centers across the world including North America, India, Europe, Asia, Australia etc. With the addition of Ciber business into the portfolio, Savvis would be able to offer great services to a big customer base across the world.
In his official statement, Mr. Jim Ousley, Chief Executive Officer of Savvis cloud hosting and the president of CenturyLink?s Enterprise Markets Group said, ?Savvis? acquisition of Ciber?s ITO assets enhances and expands our capabilities in areas such as application-management services and help-desk support, while also increasing our client base and vendor associations. The Ciber clients we attained through this acquisition benefit from direct access to Savvis? global footprint, services and account teams, plus the enhanced communications services provided through CenturyLink?s robust global network.?
It was also informed in the statement that this acquisition of the Ciber business is a part of the strategic policy of Savvis cloud hosting provider to expand its business portfolio in the competitive market place.
