BTS 2013: Click Travel poised for record sales of ?50 million ...

Click Travel is expecting to grow its sales by 67 per cent during its current financial year.

The Birmingham-based TMC said that sales were on course to reach ?50 million for the financial year ending in March 2013 ? up from ?30 million during the previous 12 months.

Managing director Simon McLean said that this continued growth had led the technology specialist TMC to nearly double staff numbers from 45 to 80 employees during the last two years.

?We don?t see any sign of our business slowing down ? we are doing well even though the economy isn?t strong and the ongoing problems in the eurozone,? McLean told BBT during the Business Travel Show in London.

?A lot of people see us as rail specialists because of our technology in that sector but we actually do about one-third rail, one-third hotel and one-third air.?

Click last year made The Sunday Times? Tech Track list of the fastest-growing private technology firms in the UK with sales growth of more than 100 per cent in each of the previous three years.

As part of its growth plans, Click has just launched a consulting division which is being developed on a ?no win, no fee? basis.

?The idea is that customers will come up with strategic objectives as to how they want to manage travel,? explained McLean. ?We will then work with them to deliver that objective with a fixed fee which is only paid when the objective has been reached.

?A good example of this kind of objective would be achieving an 80 per cent or higher rate of online adoption. This ?no win, no fee? idea is proving attractive to customers and we have already trialled it with a couple of clients.?

Another new development for Click is a VIP service where a dedicated manager will look after the itineraries of certain top-level travellers including trying to secure upgrades on flights and hotels.

The company has also unveiled a new edition of its Expense Cloud platform which can be used by charities without any charges.
