DETROIT (WWJ) ? A tragedy as an elderly husband and wife are killed in an early morning house fire on Detroit?s west side.
Fire investigators say the back of the house was fully engulfed when they discovered the bodies of Kyle and Theresa Bozeman.
Detroit fire arson Lieutenant Dennis Richardson says the fire on Rutherford Street does not appear suspicious in nature and there is no evidence of foul play.
Richardson says the couple?s daughter was able to make it out of the home safely and while no firefighters were injured while fighting the fire ? he says the family?s pet Yorkie was also killed in the incident.
?One was found in the living room; one was found in the hallway. That?s about all I know now ? just have to follow-up with the firefighters that found them,? said Richardson.
He tells WWJ that when firefighters arrived on the scene early morning the back of the house was engulfed. He says when his firefighters were finally able to go inside, it was too late to save Kyle and Theresa Bozeman.
Neighbor Louis Wilmore says Kyle Bozeman was a barber and was simply the best.
?Jolly, spiritual, I didn?t know his wife, only him, through the barber shop and ? always a pleasant smile on his face, just a wonderful man,? said Wilmore.
Wilmore says he just had his hair cut by Bozeman and said that he?ll be sad not to see his favorite barber?s face this holiday season.
It was not clear whether the Bozeman?s had?insurance?of any kind ? if you would like to donate you can email the family at kaibozeman@yahoo.com.
